And then there were five.

When I wrote about the new Lab house, I said there were four of us moving in at the start of July. Well there are now five.

Sam has been on placement with St Paul’s, and so, indirectly, The Lab, for the last few months as he and the church decide whether ordination is the right direction for him. Whilst he’ll be needing to get a full-time job to fund him, he’s going to be joining us in the house and playing a much bigger part in our Alway plans next year.

Sam’s a great guy, Newport born and bred with a lot of insider knowledge which is awesome – and although he comes from somewhere a little different to me theologically, has been a great target for conversation over the last few weeks as we’ve gotten to know each other better through the process of discerning God’s will for “him and the house”. Although he isn’t much older than the rest of us, he studied theology at Lampeter – so I’m hoping to be able to bug him for help with my course next year ;-)

Incidentally, whilst initially I liked “The Lab House”, and really didn’t like the “labarage” or “labastery”, simply “St Teilo’s” is beginning to grow on me. I hope all this Anglican stuff isn’t rubbing off on me…
