New Design, New Hosting, New Platform

Welcome to the new blog – glad you didn’t get lost in the (momentary) transition.

From now on the URL you need in your bookmarks is: jameshenley.co.uk – the old Typepad URL won’t work.

For those of you who are interested, I’ve followed others in switching blogging platform from Typepad to Wordpress. To get maximum flexibility I opted away for the self-hosted option, rather than building a blog with Wordpress.com (which is still a really good option for blogging). The new site is hosted by UKHost4U – who also host The Lab website.

In terms of the design, I’m using the Revolution Charred theme with a few behind-the-scenes modifications. The Social Networking icons in the Pages sidebar and in the Twitter box are from Iconspedia.com.

Moving to Wordpress works out cheaper – and allows me added design flexibility and more flexibility with things like the about page. Let me know what you think about the switch and the new look!
